Notable gameplay mechanics: As the title says the core gameplay was taking care of a virtual pet, that in the case of this game was a dragon that would hatch from an egg and grow as real life time passes, meaning you would have to wait for the dragon to grow, the game also had a visitor mechanic, where if someone visits you, your dragon grows up a little faster. Also I think (but not 100% sure too) dragons had elements for each species, and that would change their color, like, fire dragon would be red, ice dragon was blue, etcetera. Lastly, for the information I am not 100% sure: I remeber 3 dragon species, one that looked really really stereotypical european dragon, one that was a chonky boi and one that looks like a sauropod. There was some dragons that had a more friendly or even "feminine" sprites, some dragons were slighty derpy looking and some were more mean and evil looking. But also there was some dragons that looked kinda like oldschool non-feathered dinossaurs as well. The information I can remember that was contained in this "profile" of the dragon was: Age, name, gender and number of visitors.Īs for the dragon species, I remeber they looked like your typical D&D or European legend dragon, four legs and wings. The animation and dragon appearance would vary between the life stage and species of the dragon, each species would have a different animation in each of their life stages. The artstyle of this portrait is a 2D sprite in the likes of 16/32 bit era, the style is cartoonish and I remember it was also a relatively small image. The main profile page of your dragon contained informations of him kinda like a status screen from an RPG, in there you could see the little photo of your dragon that was a short gif of them doing something simple, like spitting fire, flapping wings or just idle stance. Graphics/art style: Cartoonish and a little bit childish even, very similar to the likes of "Neopets" or early browser/flash games for kids. So I'm following the fixed post's template, I don't know if it's necessary or how much of it I can fill from memory, but here it goes.Įstimated year of release: I played it in the early 2000s, but for it's looks it could be from the late 90s as well.
